We Wish you a Merry Fitness
Between Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, there’s a lot of festivities and a lot of good food. If you plan on hitting the gym in between holiday food comas, holiday workout playlists may be the perfect motivation.
From now until Dec. 25, it is almost guaranteed that holiday music will dominate every radio station, department store and restaurant. However, not all Christmas music is equal, and not every holiday song makes you want to get up and move.
“I like more upbeat songs when I work out so I feel more energized,” said sophomore psychology major Kayla Napoli. “Whenever I listen to slower songs, I feel like my workout is not as good.”
Listening to music during your workout has real benefits, such as increasing your stamina and improving your mood, according to the National Center for Health Research. What better mood improver is there than some classic, joyful Christmas jams?
“Music takes your mind off the burn,” said sophomore biology and nutrition double major Jillian MacStudy. “You get to distract yourself and work out longer.”
So here is a carefully compiled list of upbeat, festive songs to distract you from the burn of your next work out!
