Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are having to integrate masks into our everyday lives. Since we have to wear them whenever we leave our homes, why not make them fashionable? Below are some places where you can find face masks that can go with all of your outfits.
This local boutique based in the Kentlands neighborhood in Gaithersburg, MD sells fun face masks. From animal print, tie-dye and camouflage to lips and rock n’ roll, this shop has many varieties to choose from. The boutique’s owner Jenn Vega decided to offer face masks because a lot of the designers she carries in her store started creating them.
“A bunch of our designers are making face masks out of their signature fabrics,” she said. These designers also use their own prints and screen print them onto their masks.
“Our clientele really are diehard fans of some of these brands so it’s kind of a no brainer for them, they want something from that brand also in a mask too,” the owner said.
Clover Boutique also carries Lauren Moshi masks, which are sold at a higher price, according to the owner. “People love her masks because she uses her fabric — fabric that she makes her garments out of, into a mask and it’s super soft,” Jenn Vega said.
The boutique also carries Chaser masks, which are also made out of t-shirt fabric. Those are $20 and have adjustable straps.
These masks can be bought in-person or online, and the boutique can be contacted via phone, Facebook and Instagram.
The haven for all things handmade has a lovely assortment of face masks, including crochet, animal print, floral, iridescent and pineapple. The options are endless. Whether you’re looking for masks with adjustable straps, ones with nose wires, pocket filters, or all of the above, Etsy is the perfect place! Not only does this marketplace have many options to choose from, but it gives the option of supporting a small e-commerce store. Some masks even come in different sizes for adults and children.
Scout & Molly’s is another boutique that sells a plethora of face masks. At their Pike & Rose location in North Bethesda, MD, they not only have masks but mask chains, which can be attached to spice up any mask.
The store has plain, glittery dog face and patterned masks, said store associate Diane Vega. They cost $9 for adults and $8 for kids. The masks hang at the front of the store on a rack, showing customers all of the options they can choose from.
According to Diana Vega, the masks are for display only. She explained that if customers want to buy the masks, they tell an employer which one they want to buy so the employer can get a fresh one. With all of the options at such a low price, Scout & Molly’s is convenient. Masks are also available to order online and can be shipped locally.

This brand has it all. Masks that come with gloves, organic masks and sewn-in filters. If you’re buying in bulk, you’re also in luck. Sanctuary sells both kids and adult masks in packs, prices range from $24-$44. These masks come in a flurry of patterns and colors that fit any style.
