Although it may not feel like it, winter doesn’t officially end until mid-March. That means there is still plenty of time to start or add to your boot collection. Then, you can begin to transition them into the (slightly) warmer weather when spring rolls around.

Gladys Sanchez, the manager at the Prince George's Plaza’s DSW, has noticed a different kind of trend in boots this season. Despite warmer temperatures, customers at DSW have not abandoned their love for cozy boots.

“Uggs, anything as furry as you can get is popular,” she said. She also acknowledged that riding boots and Timberlands have also been quite popular this boot season.

Below is a list of some of the trendiest boots for spring

Combat Boots

These boots have been a fashion favorite since the mid 2000’s and don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. This militar-esque shoe can be seen on students on the University of Maryland campus who prioritize comfort and durability when picking out a good boot.

“I just got them cause they were comfortable, I’m not that into fashion,” said Milan Ferguson, a sophomore physiology and neurobiology major.

Ferguson got her combat boots at Target. They represent a common theme for her, of seeking functionality when purchasing boots. These boots can survive the trek from Stamp to Martin Hall, no matter the weather. Steve Madden and Journeys are also great places to find unique combat boots to spice up your shoe wardrobe for seasons to come.

Rain Boots

As the name suggests, rain boots allow you to brave spring downpours in style. Brands like Hunter and Sam Edelman have resurrected rain boots from a necessary evil to cute outfit staple.

Noah Havivi wanted to find boots that could survive the transition from winter to early spring when the campus is a bit damper. She sought out her Jeffery Campbell rain boots because of their low cut and practical design.

“I wanted short black boots that didn’t have a heel,” she said.

Chunky Heel Boots

Chunky heel boots are the perfect partner for the “jeans and a cute top” outfits we love for nights out. A chunky boot combines the comfort of a cozy boot with the sophistication of a high heel. Brands such as Lulus and Asos have chunky boots that strike to find a balance between style and comfort.

Thigh-High Boots

Thigh-high boots are perfect for the extra at heart. Thigh highs can take the simplest of looks and transform them into the Instagram photoshoot fit of your dreams. Anthropoligie and Nordstrom have thigh-high boots that can effortlessly go from brunch to dinner.

Whether it be a boot that’s perfect for trekking in the snow or just walking around campus, it is not too late to find a pair that fits your style and needs this season.
