Best Products for Your Skin
Skincare is an issue most students deal with at some point in their life or another. There are lots of different skin types out there, so it’s best to talk to a dermatologist first. However, here are some suggestions from students on campus. With finals season steadily approaching, make sure the only thing you’re stressed out about is your exams, not your skin!

Glossier
This product line is great for skin care and can produce the same results as big brands without draining your wallet! The Glossier Zit Stick is affordable and clears skin fast!
One junior criminal justice and criminology major swears by this product. She requested to remain anonymous because she has battled confidence issues in regard to her skin.
“Glossier appealed to me initially because its branding is incredible – I’m a sucker for all things pink, and I loved how their brand really embraced all kinds of models and skin,” she said.
She loves this brand so much that she decided to take pictures of her skin to show the progress the product has made for her.
“Their zit stick is the best cheap acne treatment I know of – the $14 product has done wonders for my skin,” she said.
The two main ingredients in this product are salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide.

For sophomore business marketing major Nadia Jaouad, noticing when her skin is getting worse has become easy to identify.
“It usually depends on a few things,” Jaouad said. “My stress level, my eating habits, and sleep.”
These factors especially become an issue come exam season when students are stressed, sleep deprived and eating more easily-available finger foods.
CeraVe
These following products make a perfect pair! Both the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser and the Daily Moisturizing Lotion contain healthy ingredients for your skin. The moisturizer is oil-free, making it lightweight and great for people with oily skin. CeraVe also makes a Hydrating Facial Cleanser for those with particularly dry skin. All of these products can be found at Walmart or any similar store, or Amazon for under $15.

For sophomore information science major Andrew Ferguson, setting a routine for his skin can become difficult, especially since many college students have so many other things going on.
“I try to maintain a skincare routine but often times I end up forgetting to do it or to do it to the degree I should. Especially if I am particularly busy, I’ll just go straight to bed,” he said.
Oxy
Stubborn acne is enough to make anyone stressed, so good thing this product goes the extra mile!
Sophomore public policy major Izzy Carroll said, “It’s really tough on acne, and I can feel it working. I wake up with my skin visibly better.”
This is another great product because it’s oil free. It contains benzoyl peroxide, and can be found for less than $6 on Amazon.

These two products can actually be used together as spot treatments for acne. Dr Song is a benzoyl peroxide based product, and Differin Gel contains adapalene, which treats deep into pores and prevents new acne from forming. Epiduo, a prescription product, combines 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and 0.3% adapalene.
Jeanie Sparks, a physician assistant at Advanced Dermatology, Hunt Valley, said, “In some cases, the ingredients in prescription products can be found over-the-counter at local stores or online.”
Likewise, combining these two products produces a similar effect to that of Epiduo, without spending absurd amounts of money (Epiduo can run over $400). Both of these products can be found on Amazon, at less than $20 each.
Keep these products and advice on hand when shopping for acne treatments. The best part is that you can check out these products without breaking the bank or paying for a visit to a dermatologist. Here’s to clear skin!
