Fun Dates on a College Student’s Budget
Dating in college isn’t always the easiest thing, as most people are on tight budgets. That does not mean every encounter with a romantic interest should be at a fraternity house. It also doesn’t mean that there aren’t lots of fun and affordable options for everyone:
On Campus Activity
Every week each UMD student gets a list of the activities and happenings that are taking place on campus that week. I’m sure most people don’t read them but there is actually a lot of cool stuff to do if you pay attention to what’s around. There’s something for everyone, from sporting events to film screenings. If you want to go out with someone but your funds are a little tight for the month, check out what’s going around campus and ask him or her to go with you. It’s a fun and free way to spend quality time with someone without traveling far or breaking the bank.
Dinner Date In CP
If you do have a little wiggle room in your budget, there are tons of fun restaurants right in the heart of CP to go out to. Lots of the restaurants, like Cornerstone and Bentley’s have Happy Hour (if you’re of age, of course) every Friday, and it’s some students’ favorite time of the week. Food and drinks are discounted and it’s a great opportunity to connect with someone but also stay close to home.
A little farther, and a little more expensive
Everyone loves UMD for its close proximity to DC, and every person should take advantage of the location to such a fun metropolitan city at some point in his or her academic career here. Washington, DC has some of the best restaurants in the nation, and if you’re willing to spend more, some really great date spots that will have your partner blissfully happy. Download the app, “OpenTable” for free from the app store and check out all the amazing restaurants DC has to offer.
