As we enter deeper into November, it’s finally time to say goodbye to jean shorts, tank tops and flip flops, and hello to flannels, denim and booties. The sunny 80-degree weather is fading to brisk 50-degree nights, and it’s time to pull out leopard-printed jackets and plaid pants. Up and coming fall fashion trends can beautifully complement nights out drinking hot chocolate, scary-movie nights and eating candy corn with friends.

Plaid is a statement pattern that has been creeping its way into fashion and is here to stay this fall. Colorful plaid prints are “going to replace our current stripe obsession,” according to fashion designer Matthew Adams Dolan. Plaid pants, oversized flannels, and jumpsuits are a trendy way to flaunt this pattern this fall.

A fall trend that never goes out of style are booties. However, this fall, white booties in particular are the go-to trend. Harper’s Bazaar insists on investing in a pair of white booties to wear “with bare legs and midi skirts for the perfect transitional look.” White booties with colorful or chunky heels paired with rolled boyfriend jeans or a sweater dress are sure to make a style statement. American Eagle and Forever 21 are great places to look for trendy jeans and shoes that can fit into a student budget.

Pants will replace shorts as wind and cloudy skies will replace humidity and beating sun, making for perfect jeans weather. Denim can be worn in many ways, including boyfriend or skinny jeans, light or dark wash and many more. This fall season, patchwork denim is becoming more and more popular, according to Glamour magazine. Combining different colored washed denim patches on a single pair of jeans or an oversized jean jacket is proving to be a trend, especially when paired with a cool pair of sneakers or booties. Nike’s throwback Air Force 1 sneaker is coming back as a hit style, as it pairs nicely with a casual t-shirt and jeans or a dress for a night out.

Another trend this season is leopard print, according to Refinery29. From leopard-printed pencil skirts to oversized cozy jackets, this style should definitely have a place in your closet this fall. A simple leopard-print skirt paired with a black crop top and black booties showcases a simple yet trendy outfit for a date night or nice family dinner. As the temperature continues to drop, an oversized furry jacket is easy to throw on for warmth on the walk to class, and one with leopard print allows you to be comfortable and fashionable. To find one that matches your own style, Urban Outfitters has a wide variety of furry jackets.
